JC Program’s goals are to provide high quality dance and Modeling with public speaking classes to the children of Houston in a non-competitive, socially aware environment. We believe that the arts enrich the life of the student and family and builds community through cultural awareness. Our students are encouraged to become technically proficient and at the same time build self-esteem, cooperation, leadership skills AND HAVE FUN! We also provide wonderful performing opportunities and all children are encouraged to perform

The JC Camp is a 4 DAY Summer Boot camp open to all girls and boys 7yrs-13yrs.  It is held at Jaz Studio on Richmond and Gessner.

This exciting empowering camp introduces girls and boys to the world of Fitness, gain confidence, public speaking, modeling and fashion and steps them through a series of workshops, photoshops.

LADIES SUMMER DANCE CLASS – EVERY MONDAY AND WEDNESDAY

CHILDREN SUMMER CAMP 7YRS- 12 YRS

TIME: 1-3PM

Course Objective 

  1. Analyze the necessary movements for dance
  2. Identity safety precautions in warm up and performing activities to prepare the body before physical exertion
  3. Preparation to participate in International and national shows
  4. Demonstrate the basic skill for successful participation in dance routines.
  5. Perform routines with a minimum off memory mistake and inefficient movement.
  6. To work on the performance skills-  focus: projection; musicality;timing; emphasis;expression
  7. Demonstrate improvement in the basics skills of endurance, flexibility and strength.
  8. Teach Dance combination/medleys to create a simple dance combination based on the movements and exercises that you have been taught in the class.

Dance combinations are taught over the period of 4-6 weeks, adding more movements each time.  

 

DESCRIPTION OF DIFFERENT DANCE GENRES WHICH WE WILL INCLUDE IN MEDLEYS 

HIP HOP Moves 

  • This high-energy class will get you into serious shape  
  • Do you want to blow your friends mind with your moves?? Join us to learn the moves to impress.
  • Hip hop is a very energetic form of dancing and an ideal way to express one’s creativeness. It is unique in that it allows its dancers to perform with freedom of movement,  
  • features self-impressions.
  • Dances come from the soul
  • Dancing represents body movements that go with the beat and rhythm.
  • This class focuses on breaking, popping, locking, and free styling in hip hop dances.
  • Dancers will practice various techniques, steps and moves focusing on rhythm, clear and elaborate execution and musical interpretation.

 

Kathak: SEMI CLASSICAL fusion BOLLYWOOD BEATS

  • Indulge in the larger than life experience of song and dance straight from the heart of Bollywood. Each dance routine is carefully choreographed to the latest Bollywood music, exploring classical Kathak Indian dance styles and freestyle Bollywood movies fused with dance forms from around the world. Learn the art of body language and expression that pairs with the lyrics of each choreographed song. It is a mix of the energy, the music, the lyrics, the emotion, the drama.
  • Medley Indian fusion :This style of dance is fun and energetic and tends to be a favorite. It is used highly in commercial industries for its entertainment value.

 

Bhangra Dance

Bhangra has a very energetic and lively tone and the dance is equally vivacious. The festival is celebrated with much pomp and fervor and the dresses worn by the male and female dancers are quite different from each other although both are a reflection of the joyous celebrations.


SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM SCHEDULE

TUESDAY-FRIDAY CAMP 

1PM-3PM WITH Jasmeeta

Explanation of what we will cover  is a collection of basic moves that,  we feel are suitable for the beginner as well.

TUESDAY through FRIDAY SUMMER CAMP

Let’s get to work. Each day’s program will be mixture of all the following classes.

 

Stretching/Fitness:  1:00PM – 1:15PM

We apply many different methods of stretching   before we dance, such as those which warm you up, cool you down, aid in relaxation, increase muscle and joint flexibility, and improve your mind and body connections. we take a comprehensive approach by stretching the whole body.

You’re only a week into the program, yet you’ll begin to train different body parts on different days with a two-day training split (meaning the entire body is trained over the course).You’ll be trained a total of four days this week; the split includes two upper-body days (Tuesday and Thursday) and two lower-body days (Wednesday and Friday), and each bodypart is trained twice. This Stretching/Conditioning program isn’t just for the true beginner who has never touched a weight before; it’s also suitable for anyone who has taken an extended leave of absence from training.

Your first day of training will be fun, but not so demanding as to cause injury (or worse yet, burnout), and progressive in the sense that each day you’ll graduate to different exercises, higher volume, more intensity or all of the above perform three sets of every exercise per workout with the exception of crunches for abs, you’ll do 8–12 reps per set.

Notice we’re not doing machine exercises; a handful of free-weight movements are present right off the bat.  

Chest, for example, includes two exercises: Dumbbell bench press that involves multiple joints (both the shoulder and elbow) to work the largest amount of muscle possible, and the other is an isolation exercise (dumbbell flye) that involves only one joint (shoulder) and targets the pecs to a greater extent.  That improve your alignment and posture.

You’ll hit each muscle group with two exercises of 3–4 sets each: four sets for large body parts (chest, back, shoulders, quads, hamstrings) and three sets for smaller body parts (biceps, triceps, abs, calves). The result is 16 total sets for the day or large body parts and 12 sets total for smaller ones—again, working in the 8–15-rep range—which is a substantial increase in volume.

Saturday, Sunday and Monday will be your recovery days.

 

Medley of Bhangra and Kathak fusion dance – 1:15PM – 2:00PM

The fun is in the blending. A multi-level full immersion dance program for girls and boys 7-12 years old. This exciting program offers different forms of dances  Choreography, Performance and Self-Empowerment. Dance is an art to communicate ideas through movements of your body in an expressive way. This class will often rotate teachers to increase variety.

ESSENCE OF THE DANCE CONDITIONING class

  • Analyze the necessary movements for dance

  • Perform routines with a minimum off memory mistake and inefficient movement.

  • Demonstrate improvement in the basics skills of endurance, flexibility and strength.
  • Teach Dance combination/medleys to create a simple dance combination based on the movements and exercises that you have been taught in the class.  
  • Increase your flexibility and strengthen your body alignment through the art of stretching. Learn stretching, relaxation and breathing techniques to improve your mind and body connections. Whether you are a professional or recreational dancer, we all have goals of increasing flexibility, finding balance, and reducing pain and stress. Stretching reinforces healthy posture and body alignment. It also helps to prevent injury and alleviate pain and stress.
  • Students will get to perform on the shows.
  • Students will rotate through different units that covers various dance forms and genres.  Possible unit dances include: Latin, Hip Hop, Modern, Kathak based Classical and  Bollywood, Bhangra, Fusion and more!
  • This class is designed to teach loco motor skills through the basic dance techniques.  In addition, we will cover the nutrition, fitness, make up techniques and overall image building.

 

Modeling / Pageant / Public Speaking – 2:00PM- 3:00PM

Explore the world of fashion at Jaz Creationz fun studio in Houston, TX!

Girls and boys learn about modeling in a fun non competitive environment and walk away not only with the knowledge of how to get into the industry but with valuable life skills that they can apply to their everyday life.

You should know how to be confident in front of the camera.  It just a fun, healthy, positive environment.  In addition to teaching the art of posing, the program also focuses on inner beauty for some of the girls, however, camp can sometimes be little too real, such as when a girl is told she doesn’t have the right height for one modeling agency, the emphasis is on making every girl feel beautiful and guy confident and handsome.  The camp culminates with a catwalk  and talent show for parents .

Girls and boys attending modeling camp will each receive their own portfolio book along with the two best pictures from their photoshoot.

This is a great way to present yourself to a modeling agency or simply a wonderful opportunity to get some amazing memory and pictures of yourself.

Dance clothes rental fee for the performance-$15( if you are a Jaz Dancer) if not then $25

Tips on HEALTH AND NUTRITION…
You should eat a healthy, well balanced diet and maintain a regular exercise routine.  In our programs you will learn about health and nutrition and also have a personal nutrition session with our modeling camp nutritionist.

*We prepare you for talent dance and for pageant competition also in this camp.
